Our Identity

Laurel Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist Church. That means that our church is self-governing. We are not a member of any convention, fellowship, or association, which could control our direction or beliefs. We are free to fellowship or associate with any church who is of like faith and practice.

Laurel Baptist Church is a Fundamental Baptist Church. The term fundamental refers to an adherence to the great cardinal doctrines of the faith as stated in our beliefs. We will not fellowship with any group who does not hold to the fundamentals of the Christian faith.

Laurel Baptist Church is a Baptist Church in that we hold to the distinctives of historic Baptists. The term Baptist identifies these distinctives from the following acrostic:

Our Purpose

Laurel Baptist Church exist to labor together in loving God, growing together, and serving others.


Loving God

 Mark 12:30, "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment."



 

Growing Together

2 Peter 3:18, "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."





Serving Others

 1 Peter 4:10, "As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."
